Welcome to the Patch Notes blog for Battle & Brew!

The following is a list of recent major changes to Battle & Brew, but may not include everything that has changed.

• Video Games
• Kingdoms of Amalur
• This third person action-RPG comes from the collective efforts of R.A. Salvatore, Todd McFarlane, and Curt Schilling. Lots of fun, excellent visuals, and great gameplay.
• Twisted Metal
• More car combat in the style of classic Twisted Metal games, with better graphics, all new levels, a new story, and even more explosion-tastic weapons.
• Beer
• Rabbit’s Reserve #2: Imperial Red IPA
• Red Hare introduces the second in their Rabbit’s Reserve Series, an Imperial Red India Pale Ale. This ruby-amber colored ale catches your eye with brilliant color. The aroma is sweet to hop lovers, a melody of pine and citrus resulting from a blend of four distinct hops including Columbus which adds a clean, long lasting hop flavor. Four malts including British Crystal Pale balance out the hop bitterness to create a great drinking experience. They’ve tested the limits of their mash tun in creating this ale, using the maximum amount of malt without adding other fermentables. 9.4% abv.

• MAME Cabinet
• You may have noticed something now where the Golden Tee machine used to be. This is the cabinet which will become Battle & Brew’s new MAME machine. On it, you’ll be able to play dozens of old school arcade games with an authentic arcade feel.
• New Employees
• Nate Sanders
• This new NPC can be found at Battle & Brew on Wednesdays and Fridays. You’ll be able to talk to him about World of Warcraft and beer. He knows a LOT about beer.
• Brian Smawley
• Known to most as simply ‘Smawley,’ this new NPC is a great resource for video game knowledge. He can be found playing League of Legends and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
• Student Discount Mondays
• A new opportunity for players to have all day access to our video games, players who possess the item [Valid Student I.D.] only have to pay half price for the buff [All Day Pass] on Mondays.

Be sure to watch all those Shakespeare movies and read all those books cause this trivia is sure to have some hard questions! Costumes encouraged as usual! Dress as your fav Shakespeare character, or as the man himself! Click on the title for a clickable link to the facebook event!

$10 CASH to enter tournament. Registration for all tournaments start at 6:30p. All tournaments will begin PROMPTLY at 8pm-weather or not you are there, So don’t be late! Tournament will be a best-of-three. Winner will get 60% of the pot, second place gets 30%, third gets 10%. Maps will be given the day of the tournament (two 2-player maps and three 4-player maps, all MLG). Thumbs down rules on maps, loser chooses third map. This blog will be updated every Thursday with the patch notes for Battle & Brew. Here, you’ll find all of the info for new improved features of B&B.

• Video Games
• Soul Calibur 5
• The newest in the fighting game series from Namco, this version features updated graphics and gameplay, but still focuses on excellent weapon fighting. New characters have come to the roster, including Patroklos and Pyrrha, the children of series veteran Sophitia. Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio also makes an appearance in this installment. We’ve picked up a couple copies of this game for PS3.

• It’s been a while since we updated our song list. See below for the full list of newly downloaded song.
• Beer
• Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout
• A Russian imperial stout, touting a 9.5% abv, this extremely dark, chocolaty stout has hints of caramel, oak, and vanilla. Malty sweetness and a toffee under tone are followed by a slightly hoppy bitter finish at the swallow. It is rich, creamy, full bodied, and thick. If you like big beers with a lot of complex flavors going on you will love this beer.
• Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout
• An American Double/Imperial Stout, also 9.5% abv, this Yeti boasts more coffee flavors than it’s cousin. Dark brown opaque in color, this stout will surprise you with its pleasant oak and caramel notes, coupled with a great coffee finish. If you like Terrapin’s Wake’n'Bake, give this one a try.
• Abita Amber
• Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with crystal malt and Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color. Abita Amber was the first beer offered by the brewery and continues to be their leading seller.
• Uinta BaBa Black Lager
• Robust and smooth, this full-flavored lager is exceptionably drinkable and pitch black in color.
• Uinta Hop Notch IPA
• Bold and refreshing, this IPA combines an abundance of hops with a smooth malt profile.  This American IPA is 7.3% abv.
• The Return of Original Sin
• This crowd favorite cider is returning to our shelves. Be sure to check out this crisp, sweetened cider from New York.
• Twenty-five ounce mugs
• We have recently acquired 25oz mugs for our draft beers. Upgrade any draft beer to a 25oz mug for only $2.50!
• Hockey
• Battle & Brew’s hockey team continued its win streak last night with a solid 8-0 victory over the Badgers. This extends their undefeated streak to seven games.

What’s this? A different tournament? In honor of Soul Calibur 5 being released last month we are having a once only Soul Calibur 5 Tournament.
